Life is Happening

I’ve been a bad blogger lately. Not that I have many followers, and the ones closest to me know the ins and outs of my life lately. But, for writing’s sake I thought it would be good to write down what has been going on the past few weeks. Things are good! Rob and I reached one year of dating in November. Doesn’t seem possible it’s been a year. We both are incredibly happy and the whole living together situation has been going well! I find myself falling more in love with him than the day before and though he isn’t the best at expressing his thoughts and feelings (what guy is?!) his actions show me that he feels the same. Our 1 year Anniversary was over Deer Hunting season. Rob was gone for 10 days but took a 2 day break and met me in Duluth for a minication. We stayed in Two Harbors and had a lovely time. The break was nice for him from sitting in the cold, and it was nice for me as well as I’ve quickly discovered I don’t like when he is gone. Though I’ve been on my own for quite some time, and only living with Rob for 3 months, I’ve quickly adapted and gotten used to the fact that I like him sleeping next to me at night. I didn’t like the 8 nights he was gone. Thanksgiving was nice. Low key. Ate too much, moved very little. We ended up going out on Thursday night for “Black Friday” shopping. We hit up Sports Authority and Target. People are crazy. I’ve never seen department store that nuts and to witness people getting into fights over carts was a bit ridiculous. It was a fun experience to say the least. Not sure if I will do it again. My Christmas shopping is almost done. I always struggle with what to get everyone. I dislike buying “Stuff” for people and try really hard to be thoughtful in what I give. I really like giving gifts with purpose whether it be an experience or something they truly need. I will say buying for Rob this year has been fun. Knowing he hasn’t really had a family to celebrate for years, I really want to make this Christmas EXTRA SPECIAL for him as this will be the first year (of hopefully many more to come!!) of him celebrating with my family. I’m so thankful that my family has accepted him. He truly is a great guy. Work is work. I’m thankful I have a job. The best part of my day is going home to my Honey. (Barfing yet?) Other than the above updates… life is good. 2013 has probably been the best year of my adult life thus far. I’m thankful and incredibly blessed and look forward to what is in store for 2014. Merry Christmas to you and yours and Happiest of New Years!
