2 sides

My Dad is a Hockey referee. He's been reffing since he was a young kid and has managed to work his way up. He is in charge of the Hockey Association he is in and still officiates on a regular basis. He enjoys it. He craves it. He is good at it. I am proud of him and his accomplishments.

An unfortunate incident happened over the weekend where he had to intefere with an altercation between players. One of the players ended up falling and hitting his head supposedly causing a concussion. What was failed to be revealed is the player already had a concussion before this incident. My Dad is now being accused of assault and also causing the concussion. Ironically enough, one of the players on the has a parent who works for a Local News Station and snatched up the opportunity to have their 15 minutes of fame to tell THEIR diluted and skewed version of the truth. As you can imagine, this has caused insane ammounts of stress for my Dad. I found out about everything last night and everything went viral on the 10pm News. In effort to protect myself and also my Dad, I am not posting a link to the story.

Thoughts and prayers are much appreciated for my Dad right now. Though my relationship with him has been strained for years, I still love and care for him. It hurts me to see him hurt. He is my family and when a family member is being attacked, I want to and WILL protect them. He's a good guy, a good ref and is being crucified for doing his job. The News Station only told ONE side of the story. They did not have ALL of the facts. Shame on them for being crooked to "SELL" their news. My only hope is this will blow over in a few days. Besides, the world has much bigger things to worry about, like Kim Kardashian's Divorce. Please take a lesson in this... there is ALWAYS, ALWAYS 2 sides to every story. Always.

Yes, there is always two sides. I'm so sorry to hear this.

I always say there are 3 sides to the story...yours, mine, and the truth.
I just hope you know that I don't watch the news...ever. I seriously hate watching it because it's always BAD news and I never know if they are being honest.
Not to mention there has been at least one instance when Bud was interviewed and they only used part of his interview making it sound different than what he actually meant.
They LOVE to skew stories to make them bigger news than they actually are.
I know that the truth will be revealed and that this will all blow over.
Your Dad knows the truth and I'll be praying that he is at peace knowing that he knows he didn't cause any of this!

Wow, that's awful. Praying for your dad and for you as you support him through this!
