Lesson Learned

I went to the Doctor a few weeks ago. I usually pay a $35 copay but during this visit, they didn't ask for anything. I figured I'd get a bill for $35 and that would be that. Well, I got the bill last night and I wanted to cry.

BAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRFFFFFFFFFFF. My 30 minute consultation in which NO blood tests, no exams, no nothing was performed cost me $201.57!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently my Health insurance plan changed without my knowledge. I now need to meet a $250 deductible, and then it will be covered at 80%, while last year I would merely pay the co pay and it would be covered 100%. I wanted to (still do!) scream!!! A NOTHING Office visit costs $201 dollars. I guess it's just money... and apparently I am made of it. Lesson learned. I will never go to the doctor again unless I am on my death bed.

The good news is that you have almost paid your deductible now!
I hate when things like that happen :(
Is the office allowing you to make payments on it?
We got a bill a few months ago kinda like that, but it was for when I was first pregnant with Bitsy and I thought everything was paid for. I mean 6 months after she was born and a year after I had last seen a doctor in Austin you would think it would be fine right?!
Nope apparently, the office I was visiting in Austin didn't bill until the birth of the baby....well you can see where this is going.
We fortunately got to make 3 equal payments, but I was sick too...especially since we had just set our budget!!!
Big hugs!
